Heart Prayers
I I'm guilty of not always praying when I get the call-em-all. I'll get it in the middle of grocery shopping when I'm frustrated that I can't find the right kind of dishsoap that is on sale that week and the call-em-all will come. I listen to it, and I hang up. I've come to realize that what I should be doing is stopping to pray for myself first, and then pray for the person or situation. At the recent joyce meyer conference she said something about asking God to make you a blessing. How can we be useful if we're mad and frustrated when we try to pray. I not sure why, but the image of Jesus on the cross suddenly came to mind. Could you imagine what it would look like to see Jesus hanging there and having the love in his heart to tell one of the others on the cross that he would be welcome in heaven. That's the kind of love we should have in our hearts when we pray...
